Information We Collect

Chant Chalisa is designed to work primarily offline and locally on your device. We collect minimal information:

• App Usage Data (on-device only): Your chanting streaks, progress, reminder settings, language preferences, and text appearance settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
• Crash Reports: If the app crashes, anonymous crash diagnostic data may be collected via Apple's or Google's platform crash reporting tools to help us fix bugs.
• App Store Analytics: Apple App Store and Google Play Store may collect anonymized usage statistics under their own privacy policies. We have no control over this data.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Microphone & Speech Recognition

The Chant Chalisa app may request microphone access to enable on-device speech recognition that helps you follow along while chanting. This feature:

• Processes your voice input entirely on your device using the operating system's built-in speech recognition framework.
• Does not transmit your voice recordings to any external server.
• Can be disabled at any time through your device's system settings.
• Is only active when you initiate a chanting session with recording enabled.

Notifications & Reminders

If you enable daily reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are handled entirely by your operating system. We do not use third-party push notification services that would transmit your data to external servers.

Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate with any third-party advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media services. The only third-party touchpoints are:

• Apple App Store – governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Store – governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple/Android OS – crash reporting and system-level speech recognition governed by the respective OS platform policies.

Data Storage & Security

All your personal settings and progress data are stored locally on your device using the platform's standard secure storage mechanisms (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). This data is:

• Not accessible to us or any third party.
• Protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption).
• Deleted when you uninstall the app.

Children's Privacy

Chant Chalisa does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app is suitable for all ages and contains no inappropriate content. Since we collect no personal information from any users, there is no special risk to children.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices in a material way, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
